Virginia Lightfine Obituary

Virginia Lightfine, age 79, of St. Charles, formerly of Wayne died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 1, 1930 in Neenah, Wisconsin to Kenneth and Frances Dickinson. From 1944-1948, she attended Milwaukee Downer Seminary and from 1948-1952, she studied at Pomona College, California and graduated with a degree in English and a minor in Religion. On July 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to her husband, Richard H. Lightfine in Appleton, Wisconsin. Jinny was a loving mother and devoted wife. She was a supporter of the Wayne Du-Page Hunt and Pony Club and a consummate "Horse Show Mom". She and her husband founded Fox Valley Home Health in 1975. She volunteered and was a child advocate with Kane County CASA since it's beginning in 1988. Elected to the CASA Board of Directors from 1989-2001, including Chairwomen from 1990-1992. Jinny received the Doris J. Hunt Volunteer Award in 1997. She was a longtime member of the Dunham Woods Riding Club and the Women's Investment Club. Mrs. Lightfine is survived by three children, Frances (Greg) Andrews of St. Charles, Richard (Heather) Lightfine of Wilmette and Sarah (John) Ruff of Maple Park, ten grandchildren, a brother, Dr. Lane (Mary "Vinnie") Dickinson of Naples, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, a brother, Kenneth. A Memorial service to celebrate Jinny's life will be held 11:00 A.M Saturday, May 22nd at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 4th and Franklin Street, Geneva.
