Violet Tuma Obituary

Violet M. Tuma, 90, a resident of Brookfield since 1947, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the British Home in Brookfield. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Home, 3847 Prairie Avenue, Brookfield. Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery in Stickney. Before retiring in 1975, Violet worked at the A & P Food Store in Brookfield as the Manager of the Dairy Department. Her hobbies included cooking and baking, creating ceramic artworks and socializing. She is survived by her children, daughter Merrily Burkland and Son Alan D. (the late Sylvia) Tuma; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Alfred J. Tuma, who passed away July 24, 1999.
