Viola Wells Obituary

At age 94, Viola Leslie Wells, made her transition on October 6, 2009. She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on April 17, 1915 and married Roy R. Wells, Jr. in 1937. In 1952 Viola, Roy and their two children moved to Wheaton, Illinois. Viola and Roy were married for 60 years. A resident of Wheaton for over 57 years, Viola was a member of Gary United Methodist Church. Very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Viola was initiated into Pleasant Ridge Chapter #378 in Cincinnati and then affiliated with Wheaton Chapter #506 in 1956. She held the office of Worthy Matron in 1978 and 1990 and was secretary from 1982 to 1986 and again from 1990 to 1999. Over the years she held every office in the chapter except treasurer. Viola is survived by her son, Roy R. Wells III and his wife, Carol, from Bloomingdale, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy R. Wells, Jr.; and her daughter, Diane Leslie Wells. Visitation will be held at the Hultgren Funeral Home at 304 N. Main Street in Wheaton on Wednesday, October 14th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Thursday, October 15th, there will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main Street, Wheaton, IL 60187. Memorial gifts in her memory may be directed to the Guatemalan Orphanage Fund at Gary Church. Family and friends may sign a guest book at www.hultgrenfh.com.
