Verna Genevieve "Jenny" Comstock

Verna Comstock Obituary

Verna Genevieve, "Jenny" a 44 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2008 in Torrance. Born in Montrose, IA, Jenny was 96 when she died. Jenny was a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Manhattan Beach. She is survived by her son, Raymond Comstock Jr. of Redondo Beach and daughter, Jennifer Neuroth of Manhattan Beach; grandsons, Richard Comstock of Folsom, CA, Robert Comstock of Maui, Hawaii, Randal Comstock of Torrance; granddaughter, Lauren Neuroth of Manhattan Beach; great-grandson, Tyler Comstock and great-granddaughters, Mia and Zoe Comstock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie and Fred Cale and her husband, Raymond Comstock, Sr.

Jenny will always be remembered for her great love of her family and friends. She was a wonderful, loving woman who loved to talk, was very inquisitive and had a great sense of humor. She was a devoted wife and mother and a loyal friend. She loved to read, square dance, play bridge and cards. In her later years she loved sitting on her patio in the sun and enjoyed talking and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. Jenny always had great stories and loved to talk about them. We are all blessed for having known her. She will be greatly missed by those she left behind, but we take comfort in knowing that she has a new home with our Lord.

A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held at Pacific Crest Cemetery Chapel in Redondo Beach on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.
