I don't know Tyler or his family, but while visiting in Portland, OR, I saw an episode of "Sit and Be Fit." At the end of the show, I saw the memorial to Tyler pictured with his grandmother, whose calm and genuinely kind, loving manner had shown through the impersonal tv screen, and I had to find out about the beautiful young man smiling next to her.
The passage of time may diminish the constant ache of grief and sadness, but it never goes away completely. I hope that in those moments when the pain of loss suddenly grabs hold of your heart and lungs, you can find comfort in the kind words that have been left here and elsewhere by family, friends, and even strangers.
God bless and comfort you.

Monte and Amy Jo-
I am so sorry for your loss. I feel lucky to have met you and your family in the NICU. I will always hold you and Tyler close in my heart. For the day Tyler thanked ME for taking care of him as a baby, I will cherish that memory as much today as I did the day he said it. What a wonderful young man he had grown up to be.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Thanks again for being one of my very favorite families to pass though the NICU. Lisa Shellman

Monte and Amy Jo,
I remember Tyler and you from your stay in the NICU like it was yesterday. In fact, I remember your whole extended family coming to visit Tyler on a regular basis. I so enjoyed being around your incredible family as you surrounded Tyler with love. Through the years, I have heard updates about Tyler from friends who had seen you at the hospital, and was always so pleased to hear how well he was doing. Once Tyler left the NICU, I never worried about him, not once. I knew he was in such capable hands.
The thing that stood out in my mind the most from your time in the NICU was how well you handled the incredible stress you were under. There were lots of tears, smiles, sobs, and laughter and through it all, you maintained a sense of calm and peace that infused Tyler's room in a way that I have never seen since. Oh, and by the way, I think of Tyler every time I unwrap a watermelon Jolly Rancher, thank you for that! Tyler will always have a piece of my heart, as will you.....I'm so sorry for your loss.

"You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Now there is in store for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge will award to you on that day."
Tyler was a wonderful young man. I have many many fond memories of working with him in the Preschool at FCOB and in the sound booth during youth productions. He was a great representation of the heart of God and will be missed. But we rejoice that the pain is finally gone.

Monte, Amy Jo , Danilee and Micah,
I believe in my heart that our paths crossed at Sacred Heart in March for a reason. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you always and now even more. Tyler was a strong young man who made a place for himself on this earth. We were blessed to have known him. And he was blessed to have such a wonderful family to love him and take care of him in his time of need.

I was a nurse in the NICU at SHMC when Tyler was born. I remember him well. We had many concerns about him at that time but knew he was so well loved. I ran into dad a few times in the walking Tyler around in his snuggly. I remember thinking what a lucky boy he was. I am so glad you had 17 yrs with him but know your loss must be so painful. You will be in my prayers. Teresa Forshag
