Tony Ralph Neeley
Tony Ralph Neeley, 60, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Chapman Neeley.
Born Aug. 22, 1946, in East Stone Gap, he was a son of the late W.M. and Ruth Tritt Neeley. Mr. Neeley was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Anthony "T.J." Neeley, of Farmville; a grandson, Zachary Neeley, of Madison Heights; a brother, Donald Neeley and wife, Vicki, of Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; two sisters, Debra Rhymer, of Inman, S.C. and Barbara Fig and husband, Sam, of Raleigh, N.C.; special extended family, William, Lisa, Matthew and Adam Price, all of Madison Heights; and special friends, Gary and Yvonne Tucker of Big Stone Gap; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted today at 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, Madison Heights, by the Rev. Theodore Slagle. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gilliam Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap, by Pastor Earl Mumpower and Pastor Norman Clark. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the residence of Gary and Yvonne Tucker. Interment will take place in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, consider memorial contributions to Monelison Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 56 Madison Heights, VA 24572.
Whitten Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Monelison Chapel and Gilliam Funeral Home are assisting the family.

Bob & Mauranna Sherman notified us of Tony's homegoing. His suffering is over and he is dancing with joy. I know all the feelings you are having Pat, having been there myself, so I know just how to pray for you. Strength and peace surround you.
