Thomas Laydon Obituary

Winston-Salem -Thomas G. Laydon, Jr., age 52, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 at his home. He was born October 7, 1959 in Blue Island, IL to Thomas G. Laydon and Barbara Waller Laydon. Thomas is survived by his six children, Tracie R. Davis, Nathan A. Z. Geipel, Tara I. Davis, Tanya A. Geipel, Taylor L. J. Laydon, and Jason Laydon; three granddaughters, Desiree K. Davis, Zoe A. Davis, and London Davis. Also surviving are his sister, Debbie Laydon; and brother Mark Laydon. Thomas loved motorcycles, dirt bikes, racing and work. He built multiple companies from the ground up, including but not limited to, Universal Web Studios, Laydon Land Maintenance, and X1 Communication. His most valued accomplishment is that he built X1 Communications into the company it is today. Visitation will take place at Salem Funeral Home Main Street Chapel on Thursday, December 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers he asked that memorials may be made to the following organization that was dear to his heart, NC Lung Cancer Partnership, PO Box 14305, Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, NC 27709.
