Suzanne Holaday Lane Weimer, age 77, of Sugar Grove, died on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at home.

She was born July 3, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, the only daughter of Robert E. and Mary (Hauptman) Holaday. She began her college training at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where she also belonged to the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Suzanne received her Bachelor of Science in education at Northern Illinois University in June of 1972 and began her teaching career of 21 years for District #303 in St. Charles, Illinois, spending 18 of those years serving Lincoln School. This was a job she dearly loved.

She was a member of the Baker Memorial Methodist Church where she was active on the administrative board, served as a youth group advisor and was a member of the Ruth Circle for over 30 years. She served as a Den Mother for Troop 119 at Lincoln School. Suzanne was also a member of the Imperial Glass Club, 20s-30's-40's Depression Glass Club of Chicago, the Big Rock Historical Society, the Auroraland Auto Restorers Club, the National Crosley Club and the Sugar Grove Historical Society, where she taught history of the area to 3rd graders from John Shields School for many years.

Suzanne was united in marriage to Paul G. Weimer on July 23, 1983, at Baker Memorial Methodist Church and after 11 years in St. Charles moved to their country home in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Once in Sugar Grove, she became active in the English Congregational United Church of Christ serving on the administrative board, the Willing Workers and various Ministry groups.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Paul G. Weimer; her son, Stuart Lane III and his daughters, Victoria and Heather Lane; her son, Stephen (Pattie) Lane and their daughters, Maggie, Emma and Olivia; her stepdaughter, Linda (Michael) Weimer Lister and her daughter, Rosie; and her stepson, Brian Weimer and his daughter, Jami.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Scott Holaday Lane.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Her services were held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Garfield Cemetery in St. Charles, IL.

Suzanne and Judy had a great "teen-age son" relationship in St. Charles. Then came Imperial! Suzanne and Paul introduced us to Cape Cod, and we all shared many days and hours searching, finding, and opening. Suzanne was a special lady with a huge heart for children and all of her friends. We're very happy she was a part of our lives.

I just remembered something Suzanne taught me - when we were expecting our first grandchild, she said to pick a tune or lullaby and sing it to the child and he or she will know which Grandma I am from that. It worked! Connie Doll

Grandma I miss you so much! We always had so much fun with you shopping, our talks, gardening and so much more! I love you so very much and will miss you everyday! You were such an amazing lady and touched everyone you met! You were always smiling and up for anything! I'm so sorry I didn't get to see before you left us! I'm so sorry for your loss! When Suzanne retired, I took over her classroom. Whenever I'd see her at gatherings after her retirement, she would ask me how "our" classroom was and if I was taking good care of it. She gave me some of the best teaching advice: get enough sleep and eat 3 good meals a day so you have the energy to teach. She was such a sweet lovely woman and I was lucky to know her!
