Suzanne VanDillen Obituary
Suzanne C. Van Dillen, age 85, of Downers Grove, Illinois; loving sister of Karen (Bruce) Gibson and Dorrie Van Dillen; dear aunt of Glenn (Monica), Beth, and John (Marlo Fielding) Gibson; great-aunt of Grant and Cole Gibson; fond niece of Betty (the late Joe) Wilson; cherished daughter of John Walker and Vivian Gertrude Van Dillen, née Bunting.
Suzanne was a dedicated and caring teacher for 45 years, teaching at Pierce Downer and Highland Elementary Schools in Downers Grove. She was admired and respected by her many students and colleagues and was proud of the relationships she built with each. Outside of teaching, Suzanne was passionate about nature and wildlife and was involved in the care of trees and animals. She was a lifelong learner and world traveler. Suzanne will be missed by her many friends, students, and loving family.
Memorial Visitation Saturday, October 28th, from 1:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service, 2:00 p.m. at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main Street (1 Blk. So. of Ogden Ave.), Downers Grove. Interment Private. Information: 630-968-1000 or www.adamswinterfieldsullivan.com.
