Sue Frankel Obituary

Sue Amidei Frankel, with her children at her side passed to eternal life on October 30, 2012 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's. Sue was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of George E. and Dorothea B. Heisler. Sue graduated from Proviso East High School and attended Northwestern University and Augustana Hospital School of Nursing. Sue married Alfred H. Amidei and resided in the Chicago suburbs, moving to Minnesota, Texas and finally California in the early 1970's. It was there she continued her passion in marketing and marketing research working for companies like Allergan Pharmaceuticals before founding her own business Ask Southern California. She enjoyed her profession and world-wide travels throughout her marriage to Al before he passed in 1998. In 2002, she married Herman Frankel and continued her passion for travel and adventure, enjoying cruises and excursions that took her to numerous continents and places around the world. Her zest for life and learning continued while married to Herman, where she became active in such organizations as the Red Hat Society, pursuing fun, friendship, freedom and fulfillment of lifelong dreams. She was founding Queen of the Renoir Chapter in Tustin, CA. Sue was a member of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA, the American Marketing Association, Marketing Research Association, ABWA, Republican Women's Club and numerous other groups throughout her life. Sue is survived by her son, Jonathan Amidei and partner Constance, her daughter Jennifer Kerstner and her husband Bruce; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a wealth of close and loving friends she considered family. A viewing will be held at McAulay and Wallace Mortuary, Fullerton CA on November 9, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Memorial service and burial will be held at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA on November 10, 2012 at 2 PM. Donations in memory of Sue may be made at "Unforgettable Suzie" for the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer's at Tri City Park, Placentia CA on March 16, 2013. The web address is http://act.alz.org.
