Shirley I. Schmidt, born May 28, 1931 in Chicago. Passed away September 28, 2010 at her Oak Brook home. Resident of Oak Brook formerly of Downers Grove. Shirley was a member of the Spinning Wheels Motor Club, Oak Brook Community Church and Windy City Winnies. Beloved wife of 60 years to Ralph. Loving mother of Jim Schmidt, Sherry Hynes, Mark (Marta Leonida) Schmidt and Michelle (Mike) Mueller-Cundiff. Beloved daughter of the late Merle and the late Clifford Curl. Proud grandmother of Corey (Molly), Todd (Sarah), Sean (Lisa), Rob (Jen), Sheila, Nichole, Micah, Nathan, Miles and Amber. Great grandmother of Zoe, Mia and Josephine. Dear sister of Betty (the late Bill) Schmidt, the late Cliff (Lola) and the late Jim Curl. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, October 1st, 4-9PM at DuPage Memorial Chapel, 951 W. Washington St., West Chicago. Family and friends to gather Saturday, Oct. 2nd directly at Oak Brook Community Church, 3100 Midwest Road, Oak Brook where Shirley will lie in state 9AM until time of service 10AM.
