I am sorry I was not able to reach Shirley before she died, to thank her for our friendship. We were "bestest" friends when we were children growing up on Carpenter Street. Shirley was my big sister when I was a freshman in high school. We sang in the Messiah together at the Congregational Church, Shirley sang.....Oh, Holy Night, it gave me "goosebumps". I could not have asked for a closer childhood friend.

I´m so sorry to hear of Shirley´s passing. She was such a kind lady. I had the honor of driving her to or from Cantores Community Choir rehearsals, and she would tell me stories from her life. What a treasured woman! Rest in Paradise, Shirley! May you sing with the angels!

I knew Shirley since I was a child, from the time her daughter married my brother in the 1970s. She was a very warm and kind woman, and I will remember her as full of life and with a smile for everyone. My condolences, also on behalf of my wife, to her family.
