Sharon Nicholson Obituary

Sharon Nicholson died at her home in Winfield on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at age 55. She was funny, friendly, beautiful, caring, creative, generous, and wise. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Wisconsin - Madison, graduating with a degree in design. She married Jack Nicholson in 1982, and left her job at the Merchandise Mart to raise three great kids in a series of homes that were invariably lovely to look at and welcoming to all guests. She was a talented residential interior designer, and memories of her will be triggered for years to come by the work she did for clients, friends, and neighbors. Sharon is survived by Jack, her husband of 28 years, and their children John, Chris, and Laura; her parents, Conrad and Jeanne Eimers of Sun City Center, FL; sister Terry Norman Combers (John) of Windsor, CO; brother Conrad (Barbara) Eimers of Wexford, PA; and many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A celebration of Sharon's life will occur on Friday, April 9 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM (ceremony at 7:00 PM) at Klein Creek Golf Club, 1N333 Pleasant Hill Road, Winfield, IL(630.690.0101). In lieu of flowers, contributions to Caringbridge.org and the Colon Cancer Alliance would be appreciated by her family. For more details, please see www.caringbridge.org/visit/sharonnicholson. To everyone who knew Sharon and all the Nicholson family my deepest sympathy. Reading the other tributes I am reminded so much of when I knew Sharon at the University of Colorado. It has been over 35 years since then and just as long since I last saw or spoke to her but Sharon was then just as you have commented on the same wonderful, vibrant individual. I will always remember her bright smile, and love of life. Sean McCarthy CU class of '75

Aunt Sharon,
How can I shed a tear when all I can think about is the good that you have brought into this world. Your smiling face goes unnoticed and keeps everyone in peace. You are definitely one of the greatest Aunts anyone could ask for. I love you soo much and thank you for helping not only me but everyone else around you to become a better person. All of the memories we have shared (Christmas, thanksgiving, visiting you in Chicago, going to the cubs game, family reunions). In my 20 years of my life, I have had unbelievable memories with you and whoever got to spend more time with you is very lucky.

I Love You,
Kevin Eimers

The Gregorowicz family of Winfield, IL will always keep Sharon close to their hearts now and forever. We knew Sharon for the past fifteen years, ever since the Nicholson's moved in behind us. We shared many good times with Sharon and knew her very well. Everyone that was fortunate enough to have her in their lives would know that she was a very special person. She was a good friend, a good mother, a good wife, but most importantly,an angel on Earth. Sharon will be truly missed by the Gregorowicz family. We will always cherish her loving memory.
