Scott Wertke Obituary

Scott Charles Wertke DDS, Tuesday November 2, 2011, Scott Charles Wertke was called to the lord with his wife by his side and surrounded by family, his incredible struggle for survival, very peacefully came to Gods closure. Scott was born December 7, 1956 to the late Jack and Ferne Wertke in Chicago and grew up in Glenview, IL. He graduated from Valparaiso University and continued his education to pursue his dental career. He graduated from the university of Il dental school which lead him to a successful dental practice in Winfield, IL for the past 18 years. Scott was a husband, father, brother, mentor and doctor. He has touched lives of so many during his short journey on earth. He loved boating water skiing, and water sports in general, he swam competitively through high school and college, he was active in his church as a youth leader and helped with the birth of the Christian Boys group which has guided many young men through their lives. He was active in the schools and his community as a member and past president of the PTA. Anyone who knew Scott was amazed by his spiritual passion, his unconditional love for his family and understood that his children were his inspiration in life. Scott is survived by his wife Mary of 25 years, his 23 year old Daughter Christina, and 20 year old Son Robert, his sisters Lynn and Karen (Terry) and many nieces and nephews. Scott's message to all can be found in his favorite bible verse: Romans 8:38 "For I am sure that neither death nor life will be able to separate us from the love of God, in Christ Jesus our Lord." A memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton (715 North Carlton) on Sunday November 6, 2011 at 4pm. God Bless you Dr. Wertke you were the nicest person and the best dentist. For years back you were my dentist and you always put my fears to rest coming into your office. You will never be forgotten, taken too soon from this life. My god bless his wife and children.

Jane and I are very saddened by Scott's death. Scott was probably one of the most loyal and dedicated athletes I have ever coached. He was very supportive of all his teammates, team and to the school. The times that Jane and I and our whole family spent with the Wertke family will be remembered for many years. Scott was a very special individual.

Lois and I are greatly saddened by Scott's death.Alhough we have known him as our dentist for only the 5 years since we moved here, we learned quickly that he was not only the best one we ever have had, but also one of the finest human beings who have ever enriched our lives. His brave and remarkable steadfastness in his illness and zest for life and goodness of heart and spirit always is a blessing not only for his family but also for all who met him. We shall never forget him and the lessons of how to face adversity and yet keep balanced will be a touchtone and guide for us as long as we live. Our deepest sympathy to his family

Our family had been patients of Scott. He took superb care of us, and had some good laughs even while getting my teeth filled! Our sincerest and deepest sympathies to Scott's wife and children - words may seem so hollow at this time, but your grief is shared by many.

It is with a heavy heart, full of sorrow, that I write this message of condolence for the loss of a truly great man, Scott Wertke. Soctt was my health-care provider as well as my dentist. The concern for his patients overall health went above and beyond what you would expect. I always enjoyed our visits and will miss him as well as his excellent care he gave me on each and every visit.Scott's upbeat, positive attitude toward life and his illness was an inspiration. My family prays for the Wertke Family during this difficult time of such great loss. God bless Scott and his beautiful family. The Sonni Family
