Matthew Yantis Obituary

Matthew Dean Yantis joined our family on March 9, 1973. He went to
be with his sister Sarah, grandparents and uncle in Heaven on July 3, 2008. Matt was the second child of three to John and Linda Yantis of Liscomb, IA. In 1985, the family moved and started a new adventure in Chandler, AZ. Matt was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ and the AZ Antique Steam Engine Association. Matt loved to fish, hunt, camp and anything outdoors. He always kept his family well fed with his original recipes. Keeping everyone around him laughing with his wacky sense of humor and practical jokes was something he especially liked. Matt spent many years behind the wheel of a truck where he had a perfect driving record and entertained many on the CB. Left to cherish his memory are his precious son, Gavin Yantis, with whom he spent every possible moment; his parents; sister Jessica and brother-in-law, Todd Guthrie; 2 nephews, Nick and Jake Guthrie; and many friends. A joyful celebration of his life will be at 7pm Tuesday, July 8 at Calvary Revival Center at 425 W. Guadalupe Rd., #104, Gilbert. Please bring a memory to share.
