Ruth Carlson Obituary

Ruth O. Carlson of Naperville, formerly of Glen Ellyn, passed away gracefully and peacefully on Wednesday, January 21st. She was born in Chicago and raised in Riverside. She and her late husband Clarence Carlson lived in Glen Ellyn for over 50 years. Recently Ruth lived at Harmony at Home in Naperville. Ruth's talents led her from Western Electric to restaurant manager, interior designer . then boutique owner. Among her many loves were: her church friends and neighbors in Glen Ellyn, Savannah (GA), and Naperville, friends from The Good Templar Park in Geneva (IL), friends of her store "Elin Bennett", and alumni of Riverside Brookfield High School and Iowa State. She is survived by her nieces and nephew Leslie Behrmann and Kristin (John) Guill, Donald (Carol) Peaslee, many grand nephews and nieces including Krista Peaslee, John (Rita) Guill, Carolyn Guill, Tiffany (Mike) Dorr, Erik (Liza) Olsen, Steve (Mary Lynn) Carlson, Claudia (Keith) Colgate, loving Aunt of all her knew her. Beside her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents George G. and Ellen L. Olson, sister Miriam (Peaslee), brother and sister-in-law George C. and Shirley Olson. A memorial service will take place February 21st, 3 p.m. at Naper Settlement Chapel, 523 S. Webster Street, Naperville.
