Died: Jan. 13, 2016; in Geneva, IL

Ruth Lydia (nee Kluender) Butcher, age 88, of Geneva, formerly of Elmhurst, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior, January 13, 2016. Ruth was born February 18, 1927 in Oak Park, Illinois.

Ruth is survived by her children, James (Deborah) of Phoenix, AZ, Charles of Elgin, IL, John (Karen) of Centralia, MO, Elizabeth (Bruce) of Holland, MI, Carolyn (Ed) Albers of St. Charles, IL. Devoted grandmother of twelve grandchildren; and great-grandmother of eight. She is also survived by her sister, Mary (Prokopy) of Livonia, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Dan P. Butcher, of Elmhurst; beloved grandson, Nicholas Albers; and siblings, Ralph, Marcus, Louise, Paula, Lenore.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 15, 2016, at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street, Geneva, IL 60174. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 16, at St. John Lutheran Church, Wheaton; the Rev. Marcus Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO or to the Nicholas Albers Memorial Advisory Fund, which provides research for those who suffer chronic pain.
