Nosek, 86, of Barrington, formerly of North Riverside, Navy Vet WWII and Korea, beloved husband of Lillian, nee Zankowski; loving father of Nancy (Harry) Young, Barbara (Tom) Lauro and Christy Nosek-Carter (Michael) and the late David R. Nosek; dear grandfather of Ray and Luke Scannell, Gianna and Tommy Lauro, Noah and Erin Carter, Harry (JoEllen), Meredith, Allison and Gregory (Alissa) Young; great-grandfather Ellaree and Lorelai. Served aboard USS Intrepid in WWII and USS Antietam in Korean War and 32 years ABF 1 at Glenview Naval Air Station with various Air Groups. Retired 34 year employee Western Electric Hawthorne Works & member TP of A; Life member VFW Post 6869, American Legion Post 422 and longtime usher and member of Mater Christi Christi Church HNS; avid stamp collector. Funeral Thursday 9 a.m. from Hursen Funeral Home, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Rds., Hillside/Westchester, to Mater Christi Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
