Family-Placed Death Notice

Ms. Ruby Lillian Cofer, affectionately known as Gold.. Services Saturday, August 18, 2007, 12 noon at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Washington, GA. Interment will be in Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery .Ms. Cofer was born to William Cohen and Daisy Lane Cohen on June 5, 1920 in Washington, GA. She was preceded in death by 5 of her siblings, Rose Cohen Hooper, Ben Cohen, Eddie Cohen, Frank Cohen and Inez Cohen Clark. She united in holy matrimony to the late Albert Williams. To his union her only child Albert Lloyd Williams was born. She later married the late Bennie Cofer. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Washington, GA under the leadership of the late Rev. Samuel Sims. She was a faithful and devoted member. She served with the Sunday School, Seven Seal, Women in White, Mother's Board and the church choir. She was the founder of Family and Friends Day held at Cherry Grove Baptist Church. She later joined Beulah Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA where she also served faithfully under the leadership of Rev. Jerry D. Black. She leaves to cherish a legacy of joy, peace, love and faith to her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lloyd (Sarah) Williams; one grandson, Terrence Williams; two great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Jeanette Everhart and Naomi Harris of Atlanta, GA, Maggie Simpson and Frances Rucker of Washington, GA; one sister-in-law, Priscilla Cohen; special friends, Pearly Davis, Sadie Banks, Cetrice Fulgen and Emma Taylor; a devoted neighbor, Greg Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. McLendon Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 706-678-2656
