Ronald Dupuis Obituary

DUPUIS, RONALD C. Of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare - Cooper with his family by his side. He was 80 years old. Ronald C. Dupuis was born on June 25, 1933 in Carrollton to the late Delore and Florence (Savage) Dupuis. He married Mary Lou Schrage on August 22, 1970 in Saginaw; she survives him. Ron was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1951. He worked at Combustion Engineering as a foreman and a welder. Ron then went to work for Delta Truss as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing antique furniture. He always put great thought into his designs and had made something special for each of his children. Ron was an avid baseball player up until his retirement. He played for various local teams and with Canada in the Friendship Games. He was a huge Detroit Tigers and Lions fan and his family will always smile at the memory of him getting worked up as he watched his favorite teams play on television. Surviving are his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Dupuis of Saginaw; one son and one daughter: Terrance "Terry" (Joan) Dupuis of Beaverton; Vicky Dupuis of Fredericksburg, VA.; two step daughters: Cathy Fobear of Freeland, Cheryl Dupuis of Saginaw; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Frank (Lora Lee) Dupuis, Clarence (Joyce) Dupuis, two sisters: Jean Dalton, Renee Allish. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons: Jeffrey and Randy Dupuis; two brothers and four sisters. Ron's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone, especially the nurse's at Covenant HealthCare. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway Rd. Rev. Mark Buckert will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ronald will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. my first memory of ron was the race car in his front yard in zilwaukee. ron and marylou hung out with my parents in carrollton, he always had time for kids and made everyone smile. he was a great man. condolences to the dupuis family .
