Roger McNellis Obituary

Roger T. McNellis, age 94, of Batavia formerly of Chicago, born May 15, 1916 passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at Michealsen Health Center in Batavia. Beloved son of the late Roger T. and Katherine (nee Prendergast) McNellis. Loving brother of the late Catherine (Robert) Bannon, the late John DDS (the late Eileen), the late Edward (Katherine Schultz) and the late Mary. Cherished uncle of John MD. (Nancy Lennon) McNellis, Patrick MD. (Mary) McNellis, Mary (the late D.J.) Andries, Thomas (Chereen) McNellis, the late Eileen McNellis, Clare (August) Mitchell, Laura (Daniel) Zuzuly, Mary (Nelson) Hancock and Therese (Joe) Moore; adored great uncle to nineteen and great-great uncle to one. He was a retired special agent of the U.S. Treasury, U.S. Navy WWII, JD, CPA, St. Rita High School 1933, a great piano player and conversationalist with encyclopedic knowledge about everything. He was the best and most generous uncle ever created. He spent his last years at the Holmstad in Batavia. Visitation Friday, January 28, from 4:00-9:00 pm at the Malone Funeral Home 324 E. State St. (Rt. 38) Geneva. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated Saturday January 29 at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church 2300 Main St. Batavia. Private Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
