Robert Wagner Obituary

Robert Fred Wagner, age 75, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at his home. Bob was born in Oak Park, Illinois on May 25, 1934, the son of Fred and Mary (Lejsek) Wagner. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Bob received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaigne/Urbana, Illinois where he was a member of the Kappa Delta Rho Faternity. On February 15, 1958, Bob married Edna Woeckener at St. Pius Catholic Church in Stickney, Illinois. Bob worked as a research engineer for the Sealy Mattress Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, Moose Club Lodge #197, the Lombard Illinois Post #391 of the American Legion and the Fort Atkinson Rotary Club. Bob loved to travel in their RV, golf, fish, woodworking and he especially loved his Cubs. Surviving are: wife, Edna Wagner, Fort Atkinson, WI; daughter, Cindy (Mickey Willard) Wagner, Chicago, IL, daughter, Tina (Don) Phillippe, Geneva, IL; son, Michael (Ericka) Wagner, Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Samantha and Robert Phillippe and Justin, Brendan, and Sean Wagner; brother, Norman (Mary) Wagner, Alpharetta, GA; sister, Nancy (Michael) Udow, Dexter, MI; and sister-in-law, Margie Wagner, New Lenox, IL. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dick Wagner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 10, 2009, at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin with Father Jay Poster Celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 2-6PM on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI and after 9:00AM on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the church until the Mass.
