Robert Nield Obituary
Robert "Bob" Nield, 78 years, of Downers Grove, IL, died suddenly while vacationing in Alaska, on September 4, 2014.
Beloved husband of Carol (Bliss) for 55 years; loving father of Roberta (Fred) Chapman; Scott; Bonnie; Vicki (Mike) Mueller; Eric (Moira) and the late Timothy; proud grandfather of Jennifer and John Chapman; Carolynn (Preston) Seibert and Michael and Christina Nield; William and Audrey Russell; Rosie and Carl Mueller and Catherine, Marty and Conor Nield; dear brother of Dorothy (late George) Prack, Edward and the late Patricia (late Dan) La Rocca, Roger (late Cecilia), and Richard (late Mary Ann); fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a member of the IBEW local 134. He was an avid gardener, beekeeper, golfer and amateur photographer, who loved to travel and visit our national parks. He volunteered as a Master Gardener at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle and was a volunteer weather observer for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network.
Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 WCermak Rd, Westchester (2 blks West of Mannheim Rd) on Wednesday, September 10, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Thursday, 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Divine Infant Church, 1600 Newcastle, Westchester for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions appreciated to Misericordia(www.misericordia.com).

Our deepest sympathies to Aunt Carol; Roberta, Scott, Bonnie, Vicki, Eric, and family. We are sadden at Uncle Bob's sudden passing.
I remember all the parties both at Christmas time and the summer when everyone got together to play volleyball in the side yard and the softball games across the street. My dad and Uncle Bob building the fence around the horse area and the many good conversations throughout my childhood and adult life. Uncle Bob believed if you are going to do it, give it your best and do it correctly.
Jeff and I will miss talking about flowers with him.
