Robert Lambert Obituary

Robert (Bob) L. Lambert, 80, beloved husband of Mary Anne, loving father of Robin (Jack) Graham of Knoxville TN, Lance Lambert (Martha) of Glen Ellyn IL, and Bryce Lambert of Concord NH, proud grandfather of Daniel (Darcie), Ada, Rachel (Jim), Catherine, Colin and Mattias, dear brother of Bill Lambert, fond uncle of Mark (Mary Ann) and Sue (Kenneth) and beloved son of the late Les and Coralie Lambert. A long-time resident of Glen Ellyn, Bob chaired the Glen Ellyn Library Board and was member and trustee of the First Congregational Church for over 50 years. Bob graduated from Dartmouth College in 1953 and Amos Tuck School of Business in 1954. He loved Dartmouth, served on its Alumni Council and was proud to see all three of his children and two of his grandchildren attend the school. He was employed by the Northern Trust Company for 32 years. A gentle, intellectual man with a dry sense of humor and deeply devoted to his family, he loved music, poetry, literature and traveling. He and Mary Anne traveled all over the world but their home on Sanibel Island, FL was his favorite sanctuary which he shared with many. His life will be celebrated with family and friends at 11 am on Saturday May 28th at the First Congregational Church, 535 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn or Doctors without Borders would be appreciated.

Mary Anne, we were so sorry to learn of Bob's passing. We remember those days long ago when we spend our graduate year at Tuck living in those marevelous Wigwam Village appartments with the space heater and no insulation and not enought electricity to go around.

All our love,

John and Bobbie Dickason

The world has lost another splended, gracious human being. Thank you Bob for all the goodness and kindness you shared with all of us. May you rest in peace with the Lord, Jesus Christ.
