Rita Berkos (nee Peacock)
Died: April 11, 2021
Rita Berkos (nee Peacock) passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the age of 94. She is survived by her daughter Cindy Erickson (Joel) and Kim Kinnas (John), daughter in law Julie Berkos her sister Betty Gillig and her beloved grandchildren and great grand daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Christy Berkos and her son Danny Berkos.
Rita was raised in Chicago and lived all of her adult life in Cicero. In 1943 she met the love of her life, Christy Berkos at a dance in the park. They danced their way through 63 years of marriage, raising three children and embarking on many adventures. They were avid dancers, skiers and travelers. Rita served on numerous committees and boards and was involved in many charitable organizations which served the community. She was wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
A memorial service is to be arranged at a later date. Information will be posted on Legacy.com For those wishing to make contributions in Rita's memory they may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, The American Cancer Society or St Judes.

I don't know if you remember me Kim but I hung around with Danny and I'm sorry to hear about Danny and now Tim greskovich just told me about your mother my name is Don t true I used to live on Harvey Avenue me and Danny hung around together all the time we went to Europe together my condolences to you and your family
