Richard Meadows Obituary

Richard W. "Dick" Meadows, 79, formerly of Lombard, IL passed away March 12, 2010 in Port Charlotte, Florida after suffering a massive stroke. Dick was born in Yonkers, NY to Carl and Margaret (nee Westphal) Meadows on January 1, 1931. Dick quite often shared, "the whole world celebrates my birthday." After retiring from his home repair/remodeling Dick's Fix-It business in the Wheaton/Glen Ellyn area in 2000, Dick and his "bride" as Dick liked to call his wife Sue (nee Johnson) enjoyed life to its fullest. Spending winters in Florida, hiking the state parks, playing shuffleboard, bocci and cribbage. Summers were spent in the Lombard area close to his son Zach's family and his daughter Suzie's family in Montgomery. Dick left his mark on many homes in the Wheaton-Glen Ellyn area and will be remembered for his expert craftsmanship, dependability, honesty and his cheerful whistle. An informal gathering celebrating Dick's life will be held June 6, 2 pm at the home of Tom & Bebe Mosillo, 1S320 Luther Avenue, Lombard, IL. Memorial gifts may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph of LaGrange, 1515 W. Ogden Ave., LaGrange Park, IL 60526
