Richard Kearney Obituary

Richard J. "Rich" Kearney, age 69, a one year resident of Joliet, IL, formerly of Chicago and Woodridge, IL and Phoenix, AZ, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. He was born January 25, 1940 in Chicago. Beloved husband of Joan L. (nee Jacobsen) Kearney of Joliet, whom he married May 9, 1964; beloved father of Dan (Susan) Kearney of Lake Villa, IL and Dave (Julie) Kearney of Plainfield, IL; adored grandfather of Kayla and Daniel Kearney, Katrina, Madigan and Abigail Kearney; devoted son of Marie (nee Biga) Kearney of Michigan and the late James Kearney; dear brother of Joane (the late James) Wozniczka of Michigan; fond uncle of many. Rich was a graduate of DeLaSalle High School, Chicago and was employed by Motorola, Inc., Schaumburg, IL for over 40 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Visitation Thursday, October 8, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield. Funeral Services Friday, October 9, 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
