Beloved husband of Katherine; loving father of Kristin Southerden and Donald (Gretchen) Guerra; grandfather of Ty, Gracie and Brecken; brother of Roxanne, Patricia, Peter and the late Leo; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

I am Meg Needler (nee Bickert) and Richard was my guidance counselor at Morton West during my Junior year. I saw him regularly. He made a definite positive impact on my life. I was indeed fortunate to have known this fine man. He made the world a better place.

This is Tom Szura and I am so sorry to hear that Dick has passed on. I lost my wife of 45 years last February so I understand your heart break.
I knew for many years as I have lived in Berwyn for 40 years and both my daughter's attended Morton West. I was the Director of Guidance at Stagg H.S. while Richard was Director at Morton.
When I took early retirement he helped my get a part time job at Lewis. We relied on each other to organize and teach some classes together.
Dick was always a gentleman, kind and respectful. He will be missed.
