Richard Grothe Obituary

Richard Henry Grothe Sr., age 73, of West Chicago, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Richard was born on January 13, 1937 in Chicago, IL to James and Clarice Grothe. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Wood Dale fire district and retired electrical worker with I.B.E.W. Local #701. Richard was an avid motorcyclist who loved parades. Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Doyle) of 50 years; two sons, Richard Jr. and Christopher Grothe; one daughter, Bonnie Jeanne Grothe; two granddaughters, Devon Rose, Hailey Iris Jayne; brother, Robert (Audrey) Grothe; sister-in-laws, Eileen Anderson, Rosemary Doyle, Mary (Tom) Farrell and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Dale Grothe; sister-in-law, Nancy Grothe Rasmussen; son, Patrick Lee Grothe and baby granddaughter, Kloe Marie Jayne. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 3 to 9 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. Prayers Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 9:30 am from the funeral home to St. Mary's Church. Mass 10 am. Interment Private. 630-231-0060 or www.norriswalensegertfh.com

I am sorry for your loss. Dick an I worked together at Letterfab for a long time, and had a very good and caring relationship. I just found out about his passing . I wish I could have participated during the wake and funeral. Our sincere condolences.
