Richard Grothe Obituary

Richard Henry Grothe Sr., age 73, of West Chicago, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Richard was born on January 13, 1937 in Chicago, IL to James and Clarice Grothe. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Wood Dale fire district and retired electrical worker with I.B.E.W. Local #701. Richard was an avid motorcyclist who loved parades. Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Doyle) of 50 years; two sons, Richard Jr. and Christopher Grothe; one daughter, Bonnie Jeanne Grothe; two granddaughters, Devon Rose, Hailey Iris Jayne; brother, Robert (Audrey) Grothe; sister-in-laws, Eileen Anderson, Rosemary Doyle, Mary (Tom) Farrell and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Dale Grothe; sister-in-law, Nancy Grothe Rasmussen; son, Patrick Lee Grothe and baby granddaughter, Kloe Marie Jayne. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 3 to 9 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago.
