Richard Erley Obituary

Richard A. Erley, 83, of San Diego, California, died on May 18, 2010. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, attended high school there and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He was a Merchant Marine and Navy veteran, and retired chairman of Hutchinson, Shockey, Erley & Co., an institutional investment banking company headquartered in Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Jeane; son, David Erley and his wife, Yrma of Castle Valley, Utah; daughters Janet D'Annunzio and her husband, Sandy of Piedmont, CA and Ann Cummings and her husband, Ian of San Diego, CA; and grandchildren Lisa and David D'Annunzio and Claire and Ross Cummings. He is also survived by two of his three brothers; Paul Erley of Oak Harbor, WA and Duncan Erley of Ludington, MI. There will be a celebration of life and reception on May 30, 2010 at 4:30 pm at Classic Residence by Hyatt, 8515 Costa Verde Blvd., San Diego, CA 92122.
