Richard B. Best, age 96, of LaGrange passed away on October 18, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Dolores M. Best. Loving father of Catherine (Steven), Robert (Linda), Kenneth (Kathleen), and Laurence (Linda). Devoted grandfather of Aurora and Vanessa; Andrew and Ric; Nathaniel and Camilla; Gordon and Darcy. Dear great-grandfather of Elijah (Eli) and Scarlett (Lottie). Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Marian Best as well as his brothers Stanley (Elizabeth), George (Elizabeth), William (Ruth), and John aka Howie (June, Connie). Long and distinguished career in advertising. An accomplished organist, pianist and chorister. A lifetime lover of sacred and jazz music. Well-loved contributor to community life at Plymouth Place in LaGrange Park, IL, his residence since 2006. Devoted parishioner and former senior warden of Emmanuel Episcopal Church of LaGrange. Memorial Service: Saturday noon, November 9, 2024, Emmanuel Episcopal Church of LaGrange, 203 S. Kensington Ave., LaGrange, IL, 60525. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Endowment Fund of Emmanual Church of LaGrange at above address. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James in Countryside.
