Randyhow I long for someone as forthcoming as you were about the state of the world.

I know you would have a “strong” opinion of the state of the world. Continued peace.

Four years later and still an inspiration.
Someone who beat the odds for many years.

I was so glad to be with Randy and his family last year and early this spring. He was always kind-hearted and funny. He was a very giving person who loved his family and friends. I know that he will still be close in spirit for all of us who knew him.

As a cousin, Randy was full of brotherly advice. He reminded me to be careful of thoughts, for they not only affect us personally, but all of those around us.

We had so much fun as children. Once, we had a talent show at our home. Randy dressed up as Alfalfa, from The Little Rascals, and belted out a rendition of On Top of Old Smokey in a humorous, nasal-invoked voice as I played duck noises on my oboe in the background. We laughed so much it's a wonder that he got through singing the song. He could almost always find the humor in any situation. :-)

I only rode a motorcycle once and, that was with Randy at the helm. Since he knew how frightened I was to get on the back of the motorcycle, he rode steadily on the back roads of his neighborhood & told me to be mindful of the breeze rushing about. Not scary at all, I thought just pure joy!!!

The last time I got to visit with Randy, Chris, Lauren & Kaytlyn all were enjoying little chicks that were freshly hatched in an incubator sitting in their living room. One of the chicks was just learning to take flight, clumsily flapping its wings as Randy gingerly swept it up and allowed it to softly flow out of his hands. He did this over and over... I took a video of this very tender moment to cherish always.

Much love and blessings to you Chris, Lauren and Kaytlyn! You have wonderful memories, and Randy's spirit of love that surrounds you forever.

Our thought and prayers are with you and your family. Randy was a great person. He was an inspiration to many of us as he kept such a positive attitude as he fought his long battle with cancer. He will always be remembered as a good friend.
