Ralph Weiss

Ralph Weiss, a lifelong resident of Hinsdale, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on August 6, 2014.

He was the son of John and Anna Weiss. At the age of four, he lost his father. After graduating from Hinsdale Central, he served in the US Naval Air Force as a gunner and radioman during WWII. He completed his commitment in the Navy and turned his attention to higher education, earning an engineering degree from the University of IL-Champaign/Urbana.

He is the beloved husband of Lucy Floring for 66 years. He built a successful career that took him around the globe where he was highly regarded, loved and respected for his talents that were beyond the norm. He loved spending time with his family, improving his home in Hinsdale, travel and boating.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, John, George, Walter, Robert and Andrew; and six sisters, Velma Cutler, Joanne DeVos, Ann Catris, Katherine Donovan, Grace Cox and Eleanor Rimby.

The loving father of Ronald (Quy), Alan (Cathy), Linda and Timothy (Sharon); proud grandfather of Sandra (Jason) Mitchell, Mark (Danielle), Pamela (Stephan) Zabawski, Daniel, Christopher, Christian, Mathew and Kelly: great grandfather of Colin & Taylor Mitchell and Nathan Zabawski.

Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 7214 Cass Ave, Darien, IL on August 23rd at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations for dementia research can be made at www.alzheimers-brace.org/donations.
