Ralph Barney Obituary
LAKE VIEW -- Mr. Ralph Stacy Barney, 77, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Bear Swamp Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bear Swamp Church Cemetery directed by Cook Funeral Home of Lake View. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Barney was born in Vermont, the son of the late Glen A and Grace Croft Barney. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., and moved to Lake View several years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hazel C. Barney of the home; six children, Barbara Jean McMaham of Jacksonville, Fla., O.C. Rogers Jr. (Margie) of Jacksonville, N.C., Lillian Ann Littlefield (Dan) of Shelby, N.C., Timothy David Rogers (Lisa) of Woodruff, Ronald Dale Rogers (Karen) of Montmorenci and Ira Williams Rogers of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Genevia Rose Barney of Mount Pelier, Vt.; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bear Swamp Baptist Church, P.O. Box 703, Lake View, SC 29563.
