Rachel Williams Obituary

Rachel Marie Williams
Born: June 14, 1957 in Geneva, IL
Died: November 3, 2022 in Maywood, IL
Rachel M. Williams, age 65, of North Riverside, IL passed away November 3, 2022 at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood, IL.
She was born on June 14, 1957 in Geneva, IL, the daughter of Robert and Caroline (Worley) Williams. Rachel graduated from Geneva High School, class of 1975, and then attended Carthage College (Kenosha) and later Northern Illinois University (Dekalb). She was a software developer with First Trust Portfolio in Wheaton, IL at the time of her death.
Rachel was a person of many diverse talents: archery, fencing, photography, theater and picture framing; she even built and played her own harp. She was a wonderful baker, making and decorating many wedding cakes, as well as making stained glass cake toppers for many. Friends and family would covet her legendary caramels she made every holiday season. Her sewing and quilting skills were outstanding, and she designed, created and perfected a pattern for wallets that she sold at area craft shows. Rachel gave the best hugs and back rubs. Her smile and loving personality will be
missed by all.
Rachel is preceded in death by her parents and her step-father Dave Lindahl.
She is survived by her siblings: Gretchen (Clark) Zedrick, Jim Williams, Steve (Maripat) Lindahl, Mary Lindahl, and Joyce (Craig) Elliott, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and dear friends. She also leaves behind her fur babies: JoJo, Bugaboo, Loki and Luna.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Unity Temple, 875 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL.

Lovely memories of Rachel backstage and keeping us all in order and ready to go. Also, her famous groom's cake that was used in Steel Magnolia's. She was a very sweet person and will be missed.

Years ago Rachel created a framed statement - caligraphy! - "Where there's a Williams there's a way". It hangs in our entrance way as a constant reminder to never give up. This has been around for a long time and we value her steadfastness as a positive person. Her creative spirit was seen and enjoyed in the wedding cakes she made. Our daughter, Brooke loves her wallet. We as a family see our midwest cousins too little, but when we are together we sure enjoy the circle backrubs. We miss you Rachel and send our love to Jim, Gretchen, Andrew and Dear Cousin Rob.
Fondly, Rachel, Ed, Brooke (Zac), Jesse, Dillon (Sarah) Grandkids: Lily, Ian, Maddy
