phyllis was a lovely and caring person. She was always gracious and kind to all. She had a keen mind, and great energy for everything she undertook.
I was her best friend from childhood, and we had many an adventure together. We were both musical and in highschool our parents allowed us to take the Illinois Central train into Chicago from Kankakee, once a week. She had a beautiful soprano voice and had her lesson with Madame Arndt at the Sherwood Conservatory. When our lessons were done, we were encouraged to take in a play, recital or symphony concert at Orchestra Hall, or when the Russian Ballet was in town, a terrific treat to enjoy that too. We always sat in the balcony so as to be able to see and hear bext. This enjoyment continued every week for our last two years in High School. Wonderful times. Phyllis gave several recitals at the Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue.

I will remember Phyllis as a strong, lively woman who loved animals and had an appetite for fast cars like the orange corvette! She was a collector of fine antiques. Rest well Phyllis.
