I will always remember Phil as a quiet but powerful man in spirit. He is a man of honor that served both his country and our Heavenly Father with steadfast courage and dedication. He will be missed.
Rest in peace Brother, until we meet again

Hi, my name is Troy Winter. I live in Durand Mi. This might sound a little corny but Phil and Jim Reitz were heroes to me. I worked with Phil at A.A.A. Towing going back to '84-'86 we were all owner/oper.and I was young 22 yr. new father and husband. Phil and I became especially close. I never really had a father and Phil. Was everything I wanted to be. He was a perfectionist. He taught me everything I know about towing. He had a way of looking at you that you knew you messed up.if it got to the point that he had to raise his voice oh boy lol you knew he was teaching you something and expected you to follow his instructions. He aiso had a fun side, we had a lot of fun.we were young making some money and to much time off sometimes. What drew me to him was he was a family man. The hrs. We worked were un godly and finally the expenses of family and the truck just added up and I had to make a change. I aw Phil from time to time and he never held it against me. I moved back to Mi. And lost touch with Phil. I never forgot one lesson or story those two taught me. I used those lessons in the 35 yrs. of driving and teaching god knows how many drivers over the yrs.biggest one being don't lose your head. I never saw that man lose his cool. Rest in peace buddy. No more on call, long hrs. Or bad weather. I know your last days weren't as peaceful as a man like you deserves, but god has a special place for guys that share their knowledge with young people. I truly beleive that. Thank you for the knowledge you gave me.I spread it right down the line meaning you touched young people you didnt even know thank you again.....Troy Winter
