Pat and Bob were both so kind to my wife and me early in my hospital career at St Anthony Hospital. I considered Bob my career mentor and my wife Sharon considered Pat a role model.. All the benefits and joys of a 45 year career in hospital administration may never have occurred without the support of Pat and Bob to us.
We remember them both each year around Christmas time when we use the crystal wedding present they gave for us for our wedding. Of course Sharon rememberers the exact piece (not me) and always says something like O look, here is the crystal piece from Pat and Bob Hutchison , they were such nice people. One of my favorite memories of Pat occurred when were young, in the first year or two of marriage, and had a small child in tow at a hospital picnic. It was bring your own food so we were a bit unorganized. We thought Pat was so smart in her busy life to just bring Brown's chicken to eat!
If I had to think of one word that they both exemplified it might encouraging .
I plan to be at the Memorial Service in this Saturday.

Pat Hutchison was a delightful woman who helped me find my way in Chicago life. She was gentile, kind, thoughtful and every other nice word one can think of the describe a fine Christian woman. When her husband Bob was an administrator at St. Anthony Hospital, Pat was the perfect partner to make those years joyous and productive for all employees.

To my lovely cousins:
My Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob Polite, as I came to refer to them, were the example of kindness, grace and manners. When I was a little girl and they visited in St. Louis, I was blessed with their attention and love and kindness to me. As an adult, fortunate to live in Kansas City and get to know Tess, allowed me to learn a bit more about my aunt and uncle. I visited at their home in Chicago and received their encouragement and pride for my accomplishments. Aunt Pat, along with Tess, made a long journey to St. Louis when her sister passed, my mom Rita. I am thankful to have had these two people in my life and offer condolences and peace to their family and everyone they touched.
