Patricia Capulong Obituary

Patricia Cabaquit Pineda Capulong Lovingly called "Gramma Pat," was born on March 13, 1924 in Minalin, Pampanga, Philippines. She fell in love with José "Joe" Capulong and they married in 1950. Married 57 years, together they built a large and loving family. Gramma Pat is survived by her husband, three children and their spouses, Omar and Louella, Lilian and Manny, and Abner and Nini); 10 grandchildren, Clarissa, Denise, Erika, Eliza, Karina, Emmanuel "Bboy," Shelly, Joanna, Vivian and Daniel José, and great-granddaughter, Soleil. In the Philippines, Gramma Pat was a school teacher, guidance counselor, principal, community leader and folk-dance teacher. In 1970 she was professed as a Carmelite lay nun under the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS). When she came to the US in 1979, she set up a home daycare, and was an active member and supporter of the Minalenian Club of Northern CA. She devoted most of her time raising all ten of her grandchildren. Gramma Pat was a prayerful, kind, intelligent, and generous woman who loved to travel, cook, shop, dance and most of all, spend time with her family. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to visit Gramma Pat on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 6-7, 2007, 4-9pm, with 7pm Vigil Servicesat the Tiffany Chapel of Cypress Lawn Funeral Home, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, CA 94014. Holy Mass on Saturday, Dec. 8, 1:30pm at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 3700 Callan Blvd, So. SF, CA 94080. Interment will follow at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Hillside corner Serramonte Blvd., Colma.
