Pamela Walker Obituary

VIRGINIA BEACH - Pamela Ann Walker, 43, 428 Southgate Ave., peacefully passed away on Aug. 2, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born on Dec. 18, 1963, in Newport News to Cora M. Fields and the late Eddie C. Mitchell. She was predeceased by her paternal and maternal grandparents, Thomas and Charles Mitchell and William and Josephine Ellis, respectively. Pam was a graduate of Warwick High School and Hampton University, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She was a faithful member of Calvary Revival Church, where she served as a board member for the Calvary Christian School System, director of the GED ministry and district care group leader. She was employed as an insurance agent with Monumental Life Insurance Company and held previous positions with Bernard C. Harris Publishing Company and was a consultant for Troy University. Pam is best remembered for her dedication to improving the quality of life for others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Ernest W. Walker Sr.; two daughters, Danielle Janaè Walker and Alexandra Deanna Walker; one brother, Anthony Ellis (Shonalisa) of Tampa, Fla.; two nieces, Anyana and Briana Ellis of Tampa, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Janeen R. Barnes; one stepson, Ernest W. Walker Jr. of Vogelwegh AFB, Germany; two step-granddaughters, LaDonna Strong and Ciera Barnes; six goddaughters, Taylor, Kennedey and Regan Young and Shanice, Sade and Destiny Horton; and a host of other relatives and friends. A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Revival Church, 5833 Poplar Hall Drive, with Bishop B. Courtney McBath officiating. Interment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. for procession to the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Assistance in Healthcare, c/o the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 1331 East Wyoming Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19124. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel, is in charge. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
