Nancy and Ernie were part of our family. Nancy's loving care of our father, Gerry Vance, in the years following his stoke were a godsend to our mother, Ann Vance. Their friendship with her allowed her to live independently for many more years in her home in Western Springs than would have otherwise been possible. Our wonderful times together over food and drink enjoying the laughter, the village gossip, Ernie's jokes and music, are all greatly missed. They were such a team and we mourn their loss.

Nancy will be missed more than she would have imagined . . . she is so special but self effacing about her contributions. Her laughter will resound within me whenever her memory enters my own.

I know you wanted to be with Ernie and you have your wish . . . one geat and everlasting love that is a model to all. Know you are made a difference, know you will be missed, know your very humanness is your greatest gift to us.

Love to you always from the other half of the Mary and Rhoda team. Thanks for the memories, my friend.

In loving memory of a wonderful person and volunteer. She will be deeply missed at the Historical Society. Nancy was like a memory keeper, keeping watch over Western Springs' History. We will be asking for years to come "what would Nancy do in this situation?" She left Western Springs a better place because of her knowledge and passion of our village's history. We are all blessed to have shared our time with such an interesting and wonderful woman. Her memory will live on through her work.
