Nancy Carnright Mensen, cherished wife to the deceased love of her life, Ronald S. Mensen, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her parents Brigadeer General Herbert and Elizabeth Carnright, and her brother Dick.
Nancy moved around a lot in her youth as her father was in the military. She attended University of Illinois where she met Ronald Mensen on a blind date and they fell in love and were married in 1952. After living in a couple different apartments, they found their dream street in Western Springs, Illinois, Walnut Street. They moved to Walnut Street in 1962 and lived in three different homes in one block over their 58 years in Western Springs.
Nancy loved her life on Walnut Street, especially her years at 1206. She hosted many gatherings through the years there, most memorably having the teachers over for brunch on the side porch. Nancy and Ron loved playing bridge, spending time with their friends the Fuddyduddies, Nancy loved her quilting group and she was known for her pumpkin bread and cookies at Christmas.
Nancy worked in many jobs after her children were grown. Most people remember her behind the counter at Stanges Pharmacy in Western Springs.
Nancy and Ron were very involved with their church, First Congregational Church of Western Springs. Nancy was in many groups there. M and M's, Kaleidoscope, Woman's Society, Handbells, and choir to name a few. She made life long friends there and her presence will be greatly missed. Nancy was a founding member of The Tower Chorale and enjoyed singing with them for many years.
Nancy's greatest love was her family. She loved attending all the swim meets, concerts, games, musicals and operas of her children and her grandchildren. She was always there with a smile and candy for the person participating. Her joy and pride was always present and anyone sitting around her knew who she was there to see. Family gatherings were so fun. A big family means lots of laughing, games and love.
We will have a memorial service celebrating her memory and 89 years of life on May 7, 2022 at 2PM at First Congregational Church of Western Springs.
