Mildred Somers Obituary

Mildred Somers
Mildred K. Somers, nee Storck, 93, of Fairmount, Ga., formerly of Swansea, Ill., born February 13, 1914, in Belleville, Ill., died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Cartersville Medical Center, Cartersville, Ga.
Mrs. Somers was a ward clerk retired from St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill., where she had worked for 12 years. She had also worked at the St. Clair County Farm Bureau and St. Louis Dairy. Mildred was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill., and the Women's Guild and the quilters at the church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Kaiser; her second husband, Edward Somers; a son, John Kaiser; her parents, Adolph and Anna, nee Smith, Storck; and three sisters, Camilla Voegtle, Helen Storck, and Elizabeth Haeffner.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Ronald Thorman of Fairmount, Ga.; a sister, Marguerite Voegtle of Belleville, Ill.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with the Rev. Herbert Schafale and the Rev. Steve Skates officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
