Mike Gniatczyk Obituary

Mike Gniatczyk, 54, of Elmhurst, loving father and husband, died March 11, 2011 after a long battle with brain cancer. Mike leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth and sons Christopher and Arthur. Mike was born in Poznan, Poland, on July 11, 1956, and moved to Oak Park, IL with his family in 1972. A gifted pianist, Mike's hobbies were classical music and cheering for his sons at AYSO soccer games. He also enjoyed his work as an electrical engineer. He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology in 1984. He married Elizabeth in 1989 and they moved to Elmhurst two years later. Mike will be missed. Anyone who wishes may send a donation to Mike's Children's Trust, c/o Suburban Bank and Trust, 150 E. Butterfield Road, Elmhurst IL 60126. Services have been held.
