Michael McCarthy Obituary

Michael J. McCarthy, 85, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009. Born in Chicago, IL on September 13, 1923. He proudly served as Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Mr. McCarthy was a registered Civil Engineer in 7 states and retired after 35 years as V.P. of Construction with Ragner-Benson Construction, Inc. of Chicago and Pittsburgh, with the admiration and friendship of colleagues, competitors and employees alike. Mike was a past President of Boca Delray Council of the US Navy League. He was a lifetime Eagle Scout and a Century Member of the Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by Edna Mae, his life partner and beloved wife of 54 years. He was a loving cousin to John Busch and Wanda of Steamboat Springs, CO and Godfather to Charlie and Michael Busch. He is also survived by his sister Catherine Condon of St. Louis, MO and his brother Jerry McCarthy of MI. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 11:30am in Bronswood Cemetery, 3805 Madison Ave., Oak Brook (approx 1 mile north of Ogden).
