Uncle MIke,
You will be truly missed in our family. You were "one of a kind" and not to mention one of the silliest uncles ever. You always had your "teasing ways" that will never be forgotten. There are so many things about you that we will all treasure forever. One story that will stick with me forever was when I was a kid and my family went to visit you. My brothers were all in line one by one leaving out the door and waiting for their dollar bills that you always gave us. Me being so anxious to get my dollar bill I couldn't wait..I was so excited...and then there it was..one BIG BRONZE PENNY! Only you Uncle Mike would do something like that. I was so devastated and angry that you actually let me go home with only a penny. So, by the time I got home my mom called you to tell you how upset I was and she and my dad were laughing at the entire thing. My mom actually called you to tell you that I wanted my dad to whip you. Too funny Uncle Mike! So, 20 years later as I was getting ready for my wedding..still living at home I come across a few bags that were left in my room...not just any bag...canvas bank bags. What did I reveal ...what did they have in them?Change! A lot of change!Yup, you left me $500.in quarters, dimes, nickels, and PENNIES.
That was our special little story.
I want to thank you for being there for the special one on one talks and the words of wisdom that will stick with me forever. You will always have a place in my heart and I will never forget you. May you rest in peace.
Love always,
One of your many "Betty's"

Gonzales Family: I was very sadded to hear about Uncle Mike's passing. Just a few things that make me smile when I think about him. I phoned my son David, who lives in NC and told him about Uncle Mike. Not seeing him for a while, I asked him if he remebered Uncle Mike, his reply "Yes, everytime he saw me, he drilled me." So true! When I was young and Uncle Mike visited Grandma's he always teased me but never left without putting a few dollars in my hand. So sweet!
