Michael Christ Obituary

Michael "Mike" G. Christ, 70, resident of Downers Grove for 43 years died suddenly on Thursday, March 29, 2012. Mike was born in Chicago, IL on June 3, 1941. On June 9, 1962 he married his long time wife and loving companion, Pamela (Morrison). They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this June. Mike retired from Yellow Freight Systems as a truck driver in 1998. Mike is survived by his wife, Pamela (nee Morrison); his three daughters, Susan Allgood (Stephen), Sandra Avery (Jeff), Sharon Christ (Jason); and his son, Mike Jr. (Renee). He has left behind a legacy of 10 grandchildren that adored and respected him, Edward Lewandowski (Tracy), Megan Avery, Nick Lewandowski Joshua Avery, Daniel Lewandowski, Trevor Christ, Jason Avery, Melanie Avery, Zachary Spencer and Kayden Christ. Mike is also survived by his sister, Barbara Readdy (Jack). Mike has many cousins, nieces and nephews along with many friends throughout the Downers Grove area. He has also left behind his best friend Hedi, one of many Schnauzers he raised and loved. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie Herman (nee Rutkowski); his step-father, Victor Herman and his niece Loretta Gainey (Readdy). A memorial service in his honor will be held on April 10, 2012 at Divine Savior Church, 6700 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL 60516 at 10 a.m.
