Michael Burdi Obituary

Michael Henry Burdi, age 72 yr old, lifelong resident of Westmont, Il, graduate of Downers Grove North High School, class of 1954, passed away peacefully in his home Sunday, October 19th, surrounded by his family after a 6 month struggle with colon cancer. Michael was a retired tool and die maker from Western Electric of Berwyn, an Army Veteran, and member of the American Legion. He was married for forty-seven years to Helen Woodward Burdi, a retired teacher, and lived most of his life in his boyhood home that he helped his grandfather build. He is survived by wife Helen, son Philip Michael; daughter Susan Mangano, both of Naperville, and grandchildren Jacqueline Rose Trier, MaryHelene Trier, and Michael Burdi. He is remembered by his family as an avid gardener, eater and generous, good-hearted man who loved to spend time with his family.
