I heard about Melvin's untimely tragedy in a round-about way and, needless to say, I am extremely sadden over his loss I am sure that, although a loss, his memories will live on forever, as there were many good moments that we all had with him.

I have completed my contractual obhligations for some time now and trying to get back into the run of the mill thanks in large part to the VA who has been helping me in this adjustment. I had planned on contacting you but I simply did not get around to it as I have been so busy.

Again my prayers and thoughts are with you always as you travel through this time of grief. Melvin will be greatly missed by all..

Bonnie, his love for you is never ending. Stay strong through your memories & your family.
Kids although you likely don't remember me as you saw little of me your dad was proud of his family.
Melvin you have left a vast emptiness in my heart. I remember our childhood fun like playing hide n seek around the house and in the barn & hay mow. You were the best cousin I ever had.

To the Shimer family and Lisa (classmate from 91),
My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. We (Dawn and Susan West) had the pleasure of working with Mel at Sullivan Park. He always made us laugh. We loved to hear his stories and it was obvious that he loved his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bonnie, you may remember me as Carl Hitchcock's ex-fiance. I remember going to see the Aristocats at the drive-in with you and Melvin when you were courting! I was so sorry to hear of his untimely death.
I have started a whole new life and have a new name, I went from Nancy Luke, to Nancy Brotzman for 30 years, now Nancy Hallock for 4 years. I am still trying to get in touch with Carl, but haven't heard a thing since he got out.
