My deepest sympathies to Don,Rita and family.

Our sincere sympathies during this difficult time. Matt was a very polite and caring person. He will be missed.

Unfortunately, Matt wasn't with us very long. Although it's natural to feel heartbroken about losing him so soon, and even thoughts of what still might have been...it feels like Matt would want us to focus on the positive-side. And so, it seems important to also feel gratitude for being able to share in the time we had with him. He shined his light (generosity, humor, love, etc.) so brightly on everyone he met, such that anyone could tell right away he was one of the 'good ones.' Genuinely special, a highlight, a BONUS in life! It was a privilege for me to have simply known him a little, and I hope every one of his closer family & friends feel all the more so. I also hope his parents feel pride for bringing him into this world and raising him, making it a better place for 38 years, and yet now beyond. Lastly, I hope his children feel pride for having had a dad that touched so many lives. Here's to Matt!

Matt: Thanks for fighting so hard, and bringing good times! You did real good, man. Real good.

May God protect and comfort all of Matt's family and friends at this difficult loss.

To the Gacek Family,

It is with much saddness and a heavy heart that we learned of the passing of Matt.

It is with a genuine kindness and welcoming spirit that we first met Matt at Holy Trinity in Westmont 10 years ago. As our family grew and we continued to attend Holy Trinity, we were often seated in the last few pews or in the narthex with young/infant children and Matt was always so thoughtful and attentive to bring us Holy Communion.

It was always a great pleasure to see Matt at Holy Trinity. He is already greatly missed.
